Koch House

The Koch House, erected in 1873, boasts a rustic charm despite its relatively modest design. Notably, its logs were not hand-hewn but instead crafted at a local sawmill, lending it a distinctive character. Shortly after its completion, an expansion was undertaken, and the entire structure was enveloped in clapboard siding, enhancing both its aesthetics and durability. Subsequent years witnessed further evolution, with the addition of a wing to accommodate the burgeoning Koch Dairy operation. This expansion marked a significant transformation, turning the residence into a hub for dairy production and establishing its legacy within the community.
